I do love May. May is when it starts to look like summer might actually make an appearance at some point again. There are leaves on the trees, the flowers are blooming, bunting is strung up and everything looks so lush and green.
You also can’t ignore the ring of church bells. Yes, wedding season is upon us again complete with delicious-smelling peonies, a need for new outfits and blushing brides. Who doesn’t love a May wedding!?
With wedding season on the horizon, I’ve just finished this 20 metre long string of vintage wedding bunting. Feeling proud of myself for finally finishing it (it took hours!) I popped out to dress up the nearest tree to get an idea of the final effect.
The floral fabric on this bunting is vintage and came from an old pair of curtains. I tied in some plain pink and blue flags to bring out the pastel shades in the floral print, perfect for a vintage themed wedding with a pastel colour pallet.
As it’s May Day today and the sun is shinning, it’s looking very much like the start of summer. Which is a very exciting thing! If you’re currently planning a vintage themed wedding, this is where you can find my floral bunting, and if fancy having a ganders at my rather extensive bunting Pinterest board, please feel free. Happy scrolling!
